"You don't have to say anything Jasmine." She stood up, and held her hand for me to use. "Come. I shall take you home." she said to me. I took her hand, and stood up as well. "I'm fine. Let me walk you home instead. After all it is the polite the thing a gentlemen would do." I smiled at her, hoping to impress her. She smiled back at me. I took her hand, and walked off in the direction that she said her house was. We walked silently all the way to her house. When we reached her doorstep I turned to her and wished her a goodnight. "Wait, before you go, I would like to give you something for all your kindness." I walked back to her doorstep, and stood in front of her with my eyes to the ground. "What did you want to give me, my dear Jasmine?" She took my face in her hands, and looked me in the eyes. As her face got closer to mine, the more and more my heart raced. I did not know what to do. I wasn't even sure what she was going to do. I closed my eyes not knowing what was going to happen. "Hold still." she said. Her voice which seemed so close, was so very quiet and sweet. I remained perfectly still. I knew she was getting closer as I could tell from her breathing. It became more rapid as she neared. She was just as nervous as I was. I could not wait any longer for her. I wrapped my arms around her waist, and brought her face within only inches of mine. "I love you." is all I told ger before I moved in to kiss her. As my lips met hers I felt something inside of me go off like a firework. I didn't know what it was, but I knew for certain that Jasmine was the cause of it. As I pulled away from her I felt something that I have never felt before. I did not want to let her go. I did not want to leave her today, and see her the next. I wanted to see her, be with her, every second of the day. "Jasmine I-" "You don't have to say anything. All I need you to do is spend the rest of your life with me. So we can be happy." I nodded because I agreed with her. I wanted to spend every living moment with her. I wanted her to be with me, as my wife. Not a stranger. I had a dream that she would be with me, and I with her. "Jasmine." I made it a demand rather than a question. She looked at me, but said nothing. I hugged her. She kissed my cheek. She looked at me and smiled. I got down on one knee, and took her hands in mine. "Jasmine, lady of the forest, will you marry me?" She hugged me, and began to cry. I embraced her, the tears and all. I knew that from now on, I would be the happiest man alive.

One day, when it was very rainy out, I decided I would go out, and sit under my favorite tree. As I made my way through the sloshing rain, I noticed something different about the tree. My tree looked, sad. I spoke to the tree. "Oh tree, why do you weep?" the tree said "Well, you are not the only one who comes and sits with me. Another young human, comes on the days that you do not." I was stunned by the trees words. "But tree, I come and sit with you everyday. Every afternoon, like today." "Yes. But once you leave, another child comes and sits with me. To tell me the problems that they face." I pondered this thought. Another child visiting this tree, the same day as I? "Tell me tree. When does this child come and visit you?" "As soon as you turn your back to walk away, the child comes out, and sits under my branches. Leaning against my trunk. Crying softly." "Why does this child weep?" "This child weeps for everything. The birds in the sky, the deer in the forest. The child even crys for you." "Ha! What a foolish child if they think I need someone to cry for me!" "You do not understand. The child knows that you face a problem, but you won't admit it to anyone." "Yeah as if!" then with those words I stomped off, leaving the tree to talk to himself. As I was stompping away from the tree, I heard a small voice. I was sure it was the tree talking to himself, or maybe one of the forest pixies came to keep him company. But this voice sounded sad. Not high pitched like a pixies voice. I thought about turning around to see who was talking to the tree, but I refused to even look back. So I marched on.

That night, I lay in my bed, tossing and turning, thinking about the little child who knew all, yet knew of nothing on how to help themselves. I replayed the last words that I had heard from the tree. He had said that this child knew everything that I was, and every problem that I had. How was it possible for one child to know some much?

The next morning I decided I would go to the tree, and wait for the child to show up. I made it to the tree, and decided I would hide in the branches, waiting for the child. I waited all morning and all afternoon, and at some point, I must have fallen asleep. I woke up to the sound of soft crying, and the rustling of leaves. I looked at the ground below me, and saw a young girl. She had long black, curly hair. The curls were beautiful ringlets that shone in the sun everytime the wind blew. Her skin was a beautiful light tanned color. She was not as young as I thought she would be. She talked to the tree as though it were her mother. I slowly climbed down the tree, making sure not to alarm the girl or the tree. But I seemed to be capitivated by her beauty, that I broke a branch on my way down. I ran towards my house, but then I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see who might be following, but I already assumed that it was th girl who was following me. The girl was following me, but she didn't say anything. I stopped running, and the girled slammed into the back of me. I fell onto the ground, so I stuck my hands out to break my fall. But I didn't hit the ground. I seemed to be floating. I looked around to see what was happening. I was mezmerized by what I saw! The beautiful girl was keeping me from hitting the ground. She was holding a stone in her hand, and she she had her eyes shut tight. Her lips were moving, but no words were coming out. The stone she held glowed slightly. I was staring at the girl, but she seemed not to notice that I was alright. I spoke to the girl. "You there. Why do you hold that stone the way you do?" She opened her eyes. She looked at me with disbelief. "The polite thing is to reply when somenody asks you a question." I said to her. "I- I- " "You what?" She released the stone, and I fell to the ground. The fall did not hurt me, but the girl kneeled next to me, and stared at me, as if I was injured. I looked back at her, and something sparked. I don't know what it was, but her eyes set something off. Like a firework. Maybe it was the fact that she was beautiful, and that I had never met a girl before. I continued to stare. She looked away, blushing. I sat up. "What is your name?" I said to her. "My name is Jasmine." Jasmine. The most beautiful word I've ever heard. I stared at her a while longer wondering why would such a beautiful girl be out here all alone. "Why do you live way out here in the middle of the woods?" "Why do you?" "I live out here, because I fell in love with the forest, and everything it holds." "I see." "But I think I have fallen for someone else as well." I smiled at her, hoping to show her that I wasn't a bad person. "I don't know what to say." "You don't have to say anythig Jasmine."

A relationship is like a rose. How long it lasts, no one knows. Live can erase an awful past, love can be yours, you'll see at last. To feel that love, it makes you sigh. To have it leave, you'd rather die. You hope you've found that special rose, cause you love and care for the one you choose.
